Encouraging Discussion and Debate
Not only does OWN (NI) open up new channels of communication it can also act as a means of promoting older
women's concerns by:
- raising awarenss about experience and contributions that
older women make to their communities
- providing a forum for tackling stereotyping of older women
and to provide a positive image of older women
- provide an opportunity for older women to participate in all
aspects of decision-making that could affect their well being.
OWN (NI) is open to all older women from groups, organisations or as individuals from all economic, social
and political backgrounds as well as rural and urban areas and who wish to be part of an older women's network.
OWN (NI) will encourage discussion, share information and consult with the older women in Northern Ireland.
OWN (NI) will provide a newsletter for members
OWN (NI) will like to older women's developments, activities and events on a local, national and international
level.
