Women into Politics and Women’s Forum NI would urge you to recognise how crucial gender parity is at the negotiating
table and work towards ensuring a commitment to gender parity when in Scotland. This would ensure that HMG has considered UNSCR 1325 and other gender perspectives.
UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security not
only recognises the disproportionate effect of conflict on women, it underlines the essential
role of women in the prevention of conflict and as full participants in post-conflict peace building and reconstruction efforts.
